Kind Stranger
Amedeo Cappelletti's debut album.
The tracks "Channel" and "Black Sesame" feature the voices of Sarah McInerney and Matthew Walsh, choir singers Cappelletti collaborated with and recorded for a previous project: a 54-speaker piece at Monom, Berlin.
Several other tracks started from the need to give new life to ideas, drafts and sketches discarded during his work for film and documentaries, pieces he grew attached to but that never found an audio-visual home. The closing track, "Nothing but a Dream," took the opposite approach: an experiment in working with a single sample, a cheesy romantic piano loop stretched, manipulated and distorted into a free-jazz-like delirium.
Thematically, the record moves through digital addiction, fragmented attention, the comfort of destructive habits, and the grief of work done in the darkness.
"Nel cuore di un silenzio sottile, tra ricordi frammentati e suoni ritrovati, nasce Kind Stranger di Amedeo Cappelletti. Un viaggio musicale che non si limita a parlare di quiete, ma che la evoca, la sfiora e la trasforma in un'esperienza sensoriale." (Radioaktiv)
